Earlier this month, we had two ministerial meetings: the Conference of Commonwealth Education Ministers and the Commonwealth Health Ministers Meeting. Both meetings focused on the impact of climate change on health and education and how it is slowing progress for both.
 
Now, as I am at the SIDS4 meeting in Antigua and Barbuda, the intersecting and exacerbating effects of climate change are also being discussed, especially how it escalates the debt burden for small and vulnerable states. As we plan for CHOGM in October and COP29 in November, it is paramount that we maintain focus on this critical issue.
 
In more positive news, we continue to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the modern Commonwealth. Next week, I look forward to welcoming young diplomats and women in oceans in separate events at Marlborough House. This is serendipitous as gender and youth are mainstreamed through our work programme at the Secretariat. In addition, I enjoy interacting with some of the best and brightest and hearing what they are doing to help solve today's mammoth challenges.
