Strategic Partners and Alliances

CBWN works with various partners across the Commonwealth, including business support organisations, cooperatives, alliances and private sector companies. All have critical roles to play in achieving women’s economic empowerment. We join forces with partners and align ourselves with organisations to power the change we want to see across the Commonwealth.

The business case for gender equality gets stronger and stronger connecting our efforts across all sectors. Removing barriers that keep women and girls from living their economic, social, cultural and political life remains a top priority. What we are doing is smart for companies, smart for business, and smart for countries.

LHS: May 2016, Arif Zaman, Executive Director, CBWN with Inez Murray, Chief Executive, Global Banking Alliance for Women (GBA) signing a strategic partnership to support the growth of women’s entrepreneurship in the Commonwealth’s 53 countries at Commonwealth Secretariat’s headquarters in London.

CBWN was one of the three founding organisations of the Independent Forum of Commonwealth Organisations (IFCO) which promotes communication and collaboration amongst most of the 80+ Commonwealth organisations.

We are a member of the UN Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) Leadership Group and the UN Global Compact Target Gender Equality Global Coalition and the only Commonwealth organisation in the Global Network of Civil Society Organisations for Disaster Reduction (GNDR). Our commitment to collaboration is also reflected in our Executive Network Membership of the Institute for Collaborative Working (ICW).
